I've run the cables neatly and cable-tied them, fixed the controller to the back rack with a home-made clamp, put the unused wires out of the controller into a waterproof padded bag which I sealed with Duck tape, adjusted the brakes, installed a voltage meter to tell me the state of the battery and took the bike out for a test run. It performed perfectly! Job done.
If only I could do similar jobs on the Freelander.
