You're fired!

Can the US president fire the vice-president?

Asking for a friend.

  1. Short answer- No.

Long answer- the 25th amendment to the constitution:

This provides a mechanism whereby a president may be replaced by the vice president if many people agree that he is unable to perform the duties of his office, initially the vice president and a majority of the cabinet, and then, should the president contest it, a two thirds majority of both houses of congress.

  2. Oops, sorry. I misread the question, the other way round (which is the way most people have been asking it lately).

  5. OK - apparently not. All he can do it make sure that he has nothing to do.

It must be nice to be the only person in the whole administration to which Trump cannot say "You're fired!"
