Eine kleine schloff

Down to London today to see daughter.1 and grandchild.1, but I was so tired from yesterdays caching that I fell asleep on the sofa. I got another Christmas present - a teeshirt, saying "Black belt geocacher", which I'll be wearing proudly at some future event. And we discovered that 7-month-olds like chasing spots of light on the carpet, just like kittens.

Also, I took my new Kindle there, loaded up with various free (and legitimately so) things from Gutenburg. And I found out two facts - 1) I find reading on the Kindle rather a good experience, and 2) there's a lot of *good* free stuff on www.Gutenburg.org

And I've found that I can put MP3s on to the Kindle, and it plays them well. And I have a rather good collection of MP3s.

  1. I got a Kindle for Christmas too .. I love it, and particularly love the free downloads on the Amazon website. I had tried out the Kindle app on my phone previously, which was very successful, and will come in handy still for those odd few minutes waiting outside the school before I dart in to pick up the offspring. A book which I read recently is The Penal Colony (free download from Amazon) which I thoroughly enjoyed, although it is a bit brutal in places. Another freebie from Amazon I read, indeed it was the first one I tried on my phone, was Broadmoor revisited. You can see the freebie downloads here http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/bestsellers/digital-text/ref=pd_dp_ts_kinc_1 :-) Liane

  2. You get a much bigger selection of freebie downloads from www.Gutenburg.org, including a lot of P G Wodehouse books (which I love).
